Get ready for our 2023-24 School Year Orientation Meetings for the School Site Council and ELAC!

Next Tuesday, August 29, 2023 @ 4:00pm, we will be holding our Orientation Meetings for our School Site Council, and our English Learner Advisory Committee!

All who are interested in being a part of School-Site Council or ELAC, this year, must attend the Orientation Meetings on August 29, 2023.

The SSC Orientation will be held from 4:00 to 5:00 pm.

The ELAC Orientation will be from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Both meetings will be in-person on CAL's campus. We look forward to seeing you! Be Informed! Make Your Voice Heard! Take Action! Join CAL's SSC or ELAC!

The CAL Leadership Team has decided to close the school and afterschool program tomorrow Monday, August 21, 2023, due to the effects of Hurricane Hilary. Students and families: please share with CAL families who may not have access to this message.

School is expected to resume on Tuesday, August 22, but more information will be provided if necessary. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

The CAL Lunch Program would like to invite you to join us Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 11AM to 2PM for our Annual BBQ on CAL's Campus! We will be assisting parents with the lunch application and a tasty meal will be provided courtesy of School Nutrition Plus. New enrollments are welcomed! See you Saturday!

There are locations that are offering free meals for the summer!

Attached you will find information of local parks, community centers and food banks that are offering either breakfast, lunch or both.

School will be closed Monday, May 29, 2023 for Memorial Day!

We're excited to announce that our students will participate in a JUST SAY NO! pep rally, hosted by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department! Students will participate in a carnival-style assembly, while learning why Bullying, Drugs, Gangs & Crime are harmful to ourselves and others. The assembly will take place from 10:00 to 11:45 am, Wednesday, May 24. We hope to see all of our CAL Explorers present!

School will be closed Monday, April 3rd - Friday April 7th for Spring Recess!

Classes will resume Monday, April 10th!

School will be closed Friday, March 31, 2023 for Cesar Chavez Day!

We're planning educational field trips for our CAL Explorers! If you would like to apply to possibly serve as a chaperone for a field trip, please pick up a Volunteer Application Packet in the CAL Main Office. We appreciate our chaperones!

Our 2nd Trimester Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held next week, Monday through Friday, March 13 - March 17, 2023.

Please be sure to sign up for a conference appointment with your child's teacher. This is a great opportunity to learn more about your child's progress!
