Quick Tips for Using Zoom

  • If you are using an external camera and/or microphone be sure to plug them in before opening the Zoom application. We recommend using a headset if possible.
  • Only 1 microphone and speaker system should be active per physical location. Otherwise the 2 systems may cause a loud screeching sound.
  • Be sure to mute yourself when you are not speaking.
  • Use the Chat feature to ask questions without interrupting the speaker.
  • You cannot record unless you are the meeting host, or the meeting host allows you permission to record.

About Me

I am a graduate of the USC Rossier School of Education where I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching with a Multiple Subject Concentration. My 3 year teaching experience and 7 years in childhood education has developed me to become a passionate, persistent, and a strong learner and educator.

During the completion of my degree, my undergraduate experience in PreDental, and my first year in teaching, I faced academic, self-esteem, and mental challenges that pushed me beyond my limits that have made me become the persistent person today. Through these experiences, I learned to never give up and to believe in myself despite any outcomes. I have overcome my fear of failure and insecurities through persistence, endurance, and courage.

Furthermore, teaching has become more than a profession, but a role where I can share these positive values, skills, and knowledge to students around me. I want to share with students what I have learned as a student and challenge them to be lifelong learners. Thus, I enjoy connecting with students who are demotivated and lack perseverance because it reminds me who I once was.

My focus in the classroom is based on Values and Principles like perseverance, kindness, love, patience, diligence, order. These principles will guide our character and academic instruction to be the best who we can be. We also focus on the California Common Core Standards (CCSS). The CCSS are educational standards that students should know and be able to do in each subject in each grade.
